The Great Conjunction of 2020 (12.21.2020)

The Great Conjunction of 2020 was a special event that must be celebrated! Jupiter and Saturn were in alignment in our sky to such a degree that they made a bright star. Not only was it a beautiful sight to see, it was a rare occasion. The two celestial bodies were 0.1 degree apart towards the southwest. The last time Earth was in full view of a 0.1 (aprox.) conjunction of the two largest planets in our solar system was in 1226! That’s 794 years ago!!!!!! Jupiter takes 11.68 earth years to orbit the sun and Saturn’s trip is 29.45. In deep space, Jupiter and Saturn are 456 million miles (734 million km) apart with Saturn further from the Sun.

Jupiter and Saturn were in Aquarius during their conjunction. Aquarius bring us social consciousness, philanthropy, and focusing on making the world a better place. The colors silver and blue represent this Zodiac, and it is a fixed air sign. Saturn is one of Aquarius’s ruling planets and so during the conjunction, Saturn was in it’s home and blessed us in great abundance with it’s energy. Saturn commands us to be disciplined, giving us the tolerance to withstand complicated and challenging work. Jupiter heightened this energy. Jupiter is associated with abstract thought as well as intellectualism. With these cosmic forces, this is the right time to work towards a better future for all.
